Started noticing him yesterday just standing there, he's got a bit of foam on his beak. Any suggestions on what it could be? All other chickens are fine and those are his only symptoms.
I know it's almost impossible to tell unless they're laying but these are my first silkies, could anyone give me their guesses on gender? I'm betting the red comb is a roo and probably mixed considering it has pink feet too. There are 2 pictures of each, 4 birds total. Thanks guys! ❤️
I'm going to be honest, most of the eggs were from barred rocks but I do have some feather footed barn yard mixes in there that could have Cochin blood they all have orange regular feathers tho
I hatched this from a lady who raises silkies. But I have a sneaking suspicion that with the smooth feathers and pink feet it's daddy is not who she thinks lol. The skin is a light grey but with pink feet and comb. Definitely has 5 toes on both feet. Any ideas? Is this just a random phenomenon...
They did great the first couple days, then I noticed sudden onset of fatigued. I administered probiotic/electrolytes and when I noticed them not eating tried the raw egg yolk. They all get magic chick water when I first bring them home and also medicated chick feed. They just don't make it. None...
I've never in my almost 10 years of raising chickens had so many baby chicks die. The ones I've hatched are doing great. But I've had 4 of the same breeds from two different feed stores die despite my efforts to save them. 2 buff brahmas from Rural King and 2 Buff Orpingtons from tractor Supply...
I was told this was a sapphire gem pullet by the lady I got the hatching eggs from but I have my doubts. Attitude, size, and comb all have me questioning even the breed(comb made me think it could be mixed with an Easter egger).
I've never raised Sapphire gems before so I was hoping to get...
I got them from Rural king, I'm not sure which hatchery they use! But the little black and white ones wing feathers are starting to come in and I think they could be frizzled
Hey guys! I got these cuties yesterday, I can't seem to find any chicks online that resemble them so I was wondering if y'all had any ideas?! I've never had bantams other than silkies but I couldn't pass up that tub full of tiny babies 🤣
A few weeks ago I got a few chicks and grafted them onto the mama hen because she kept ruining nests of eggs.
Then candled the eggs I took away from her and had an oh crap moment because they had baby chicks in them.
So I quickly put them in a box, inside a dog crate with a heatlamp clamped...
Couple weeks ago I decided to get some baby chicks for my broody hen. After I grafted the babies onto mama, I took the eggs out from her. Then I candled them.
That's when I had the 'oh crap' moment of there are babies in these eggs! About 6 days old! I thought, well everyone keeps telling me...
I had no idea crows would kill chickens, I just posted about crows coming and "visiting" my chickens at the compost pile. They seem like they get along even? Here's pictures, should I be concerned?
