Mine didn't start laying until 20 weeks. But she has been the most consistent layer of my pullets. Also, at 18-22 weeks old it was in the 100's here in North Texas.
Anyone ever see a buff Orpington with ear muffs? My pullet is about 11 weeks old. All of a sudden she started getting real fluffy by the ears. I have no recent shot of her (she is camera shy) but this picture is about 2 weeks ago.
Hello all. I have a pullet buff Orpington and she is about 11 weeks old. (Came from Ideal Poultry) She just now is starting get muffs. Do orpingtons get ear muffs? Can't get this one to settle down for a new picture. This picture is her about at 8/9 weeks.

Here is our 8-9 week old EE. I really thought she was a she until reading this thread, now her red coloring (feathers) is making we wonder about her!! She has absolutely NO pink or red in her comb. What do you guys think? And please explain why! Thanks-
So here is a question then: This one came to us as an "Australorp", feathers came in gold. Looks like a black sex-link, (which would make her a her.) However, she has had a red comb from about 4 weeks, now has a red face, including ears and wattles. She is 10 weeks now. What do you guys think...
