Has anyone ever had a dark barred rock roo? I have some chicks and I would say one o f the dark ones is a cockrel. 6 weeks red comb and small wattles?

My barred rock cries when I separate it from my BO even if just a couple seconds of separation and seems to be getting louder every day. Is that typical of the breed or could it be a possible male?

This is my 1 year old BR named Choo-Choo. I have had a few other barred rocks also and they are a fantastic all around breed; great egg layers and a great pets. I have not yet eaten one, so I can not speak to the meat quality.
