Thanks for that info. We have about 8 more days or so but hopefully we can get her to hatch them out.. Unfortunately we haven't been around when she gets up so we don't know how many are under her or what type
So I have a game hen that is broody and has been for weeks. She has been laying on a handful of eggs for about 8-10 days now.. Is there anything I need to do for her or the eggs? Also the boxes are in an elevated room... If she does sit on then long enough to hatch what will I need to do once...
so I have heard mixed reviews on DE and want some opinions and experiences with it. I am wanting to know the benefits if any of using DE with chickens. Also what are the ways people use it and also the amount used.
I have a couple make shift wood nesting boxes with legs that stand about 2 feet tall with a ramp and board out front of them.. I was wondering if it would be OK to (1) spray paint the boxes to help seal them (2) make them a little more appealing (3) make it darker for them to lay in
Well I am not sure of exact age. But regardless I was hoping for hens . I bought thwm from a local farmer so obviously straight run and that's the chance I took. I enjoy learning the breeds and figuring these things out!
