    hens are laying rotten eggs

My sister gets dozens of eggs from me and last week let me know 1 was rotten. Black, stink that caused to her vomit. Explained that it sort of exploded. We chalked it up to maybe the egg was in the coop for a long time and I gathered it without realizing it was from past. This week she has...

    Rooster heart attack

Still a newbie with chickens and such. I believe one of my Roosters just had a heart attack. Just sitting dusting himself...suddenly the strangest noise I have heard coming from a chicken, I looked because it was so odd. My Roo was on his back a few feet from where he was 2 minutes before. He...

    wondering what breed this is

I've searched breeds with green legs and have not seen a white one as of yet. Also their eyes are big black pools. No irises that I can see. The feathers are a very soft texture, softer than the feathers of a cochin. The hen is fairly docile where the cockerel is skiddish. He is gutsy though...

They are 6 weeks old, all in the same environment. I know if the footing is bad they can develop weird feet. This...

    sick chick

I can only pass on what the vet said. First he checked her and said she is not diseased or sick. He suspected a vitamin deficiency, his thoughts were it is usually b and a, giving e and selenium helps with absorption. The first day I had no vitamins on hand other than adult multi. I gave her...

    sick chick

I just returned from the vet. He believes it is vitamin deficiency. He said she is not diseased or sick. 'After 12 days of treatment what you see is what you get'. It might be too later to reverse any damage that may have been done with the vitamin deficiency but we are hoping for a full recovery.

    sick chick

I have been searching the better part of the day for the same symptoms in a 4 week old barred rock. No other birds have any symptoms. She seems to go into seizure if her head is upright for a small bit of time, the shaking and backing end within a minute and she just stays there. She does not...
