Hey everyone! It's been a while and I've got some fencing I'd love to give to one of you lucky people!
Someone gave it to me for a project and I never used it, so now it should go to someone who can.
I'm in Iosco twp in Livingston County, send me a PM if you're interested and we'll get it...
What would seem an appropriate compensation value to request? I don't want to be to much of a burden on them but my ducks are inseparable and the remaining ducks are.. the best way to put it is lost, they leave the coop, eat and drink in 10 minutes, then lay in a huddle on the floor

Hello MI thread. Perhaps more properly hello again. Though I haven't been active for close to 2 years I come now seeking advice. A few days ago my free ranging flock was attacked by a runaway dog without a tag, but having a collar and seeming to be well trained. He killed both of my male ducks...
What really sets the ChickenGuard apart is its light sensing capability. No more birds getting locked out because you forgot to set the timer. Simply take the measurement after all the birds are away and it will close at that light level.
I really love the convenience of mine though I find...
I have 30 hens in their second year, but 3 of them just finished molting in late January (They all started in October). I was getting 0-2 eggs a day for about 3 months but I am now back up to 10-12
Check out Polish hens, not known for cold hardness but mine stand up remarkably well!
Also check out Hedemoras and Cream Legbars, fantastic, cold hardy birds especially the hedmoras!
Campbell's have the best laying, but I much prefer the temperament of a harlequin. If it were me I would get the harlequins. Some runner varieties can also lay blue or green eggs as well.
Pumpkins are great, especially when its a really big one and they peck a tunnel through and play in it. Check out Fresh Eggs Daily, they usually have some very good information on this stuff.

Raw squash and especially raw pumpkin seeds (whole or ground) are an excellent natural wormer as well as nasturtium and garlic.
Kocci Free can also help, though not...
Okay, its getting later in the season and no one likes to think about what's to come. However, I would like your opinions on how to water and allow my ducks to swim in the cold winter months. Do you have a waterer in the coop, if so what is it and how is it working out.
At the moment the firequackers live with my chickens in a shaving filled coop and are making a royal mess in the corner they sleep in. In the spring there is a strong possibility of them moving out and getting a place of their own. What bedding do you use and/or what bedding do you recommend.
To pill a duck you need to put the pill on the roof of their mouth and slide it back using the roof of their bill as a guide until it goes down. Hope this helps! It does take a good bit of practice
Those are almost defenetly the pekins work. I have (had) both breeds and my rouen, in her 2 years (She was taken by a predator last week) only laid 1 egg and it looked like a pullet egg. Also rouen eggs in my experience with other flocks is that they nearly always have a slight tint. Plus those...
