I’ve been away from BYC for almost two years….it would have been 2 years in March. Just needed a break, but didn’t expect it to last this long!!
Numbers remain fairly stable at Stage 3b. In March of 2021 I dropped to 19 - I had to get serious again because I was slacking on the diet. Got cocky...
Has to be the blueberries!
Bumbley is doing okay. She still owns her little shop in Sioux Falls. The messy divorce finally ended and her life is settling out. And it’s apparent that she’s still the thoughtful, sweet kid we raised! :love We dun good!
I haven’t. But I have them marked so I can find them when things finally settle down a bit here and I can ‘speriment, as my young grandson used used to say. There are are a couple that I’m really excited about....and the ones that kind of substitute tomatoes are really intriguing! My...
i had to stop taking Celebrex and Protonix, and no over-the-counter NSAIDS allowed either. Both are hard....I’ve had 3 surgeries just on one hip, and it can’t be fixed so my Celebrex was invaluable. The Protonix was for Barretts Esophagus. I also needed to go back to catheterizations 3x a...
And to make the day even better, I was talking to my granddaughter, Little Diane, a few days ago about how hard it‘s been to go to places and not be able to eat, like the other night when we went to Shoshoni and I couldn’t eat a thing on the buffet table. I said I guessed I’d need to start...
GFR IS UP TO 32!!!! Can’t walk upright, can’t eat worth beans, can’t figure out exactly what I can eat yet, and I’ll most likely stay here at Stage 3-B to 4, with occasional rises and falls, but he said he thought I was pretty stable! It’s working!!
Okay, tomorrow we see if this month’s work has paid off. Appointment with the nephrologist at 1:40. Let‘s pray that the GFR is up and the creatinine is down! :fl
I could just make a faceless one, Bruce!
Yep, the intelligent, adult side of me knows that kidney failure and kidney disease are two different critters. But the “this is all so new to me and I‘m a little scared” side of me ain’t taking any chances! :lau
Yayyyy for you, too!!! I’m not sure how inspirational someone floundering in the dark can be! You’re the one doing the work! :clap:clap
You‘ve known me long enough to know that I can be snippy, outspoken, opinionated and stubborn, but “inspirational”? Kelsey, you‘ve been sniffing cat food...
Yeah, well, I still would have preferred the steak dinner. I’m not big on salmon. But they have this lemon dill sauce.....I swear you could put this stuff on a flip-flop and it would be delicious!
I did plan on getting a full blown celebratory dinner of my favorites, but March 5th is...
Been an interesting couple of days! We had an event to attend on Wednesday night and the ladies there put on one heck of a spread. Problem was there wasn’t a thing on the groaning tables that I could eat. Ham, (sodium, phosphorous, potassium), scalloped potatoes (potassium and phosphorous)...
I see the nephrologist on Match 5th and he’ll tell me then. I hope it doesn’t mean repeated trips up to Billings, though. There’ll probably be at least two meetings with the dietitian - one to go over what I like, food sensitivities, and foods I just plain hate, then another to go over what...
