My roo has been fertilizing eggs for 11 weeks now and today was his first attempt at a crow. 23 weeks. It was perfect. All 5 notes, perfectly formed. We don't have any other roosters around him so he was never intimidated to crow. I'm so proud of him.
My sebright doesn't share the treats with his girls, he's a little greedy. He's not really old enough yet to know manners (18 weeks) but do you think he will learn in time? He doesn't crow yet.
When I introduced my hen to my sebright cockerel, she thought he was a girl (he wasn't crowing yet) and they went at it!!! Hackle feathers all out on end, sparring eachother. We let them just duke it out until she had him pinned down by his neck. Then we broke it up and they hated eachother for...
My 12 week old is mounting hens, but isn't even crowing yet. When I cracked one of my hen's eggs this morning I think (and I could be wrong) it was fertile!
Is that possible? Or do you think my eyes are tricking me? I read sebrights weren't that fertile.
Mine is maturing very fast! He's 9 weeks, and his comb/wattles are huge! His wattles are almost as big as my hen's! As for my other one, he is 9 weeks and has no wattles and a small comb, but it's too red to be a pullet.
