Good looking birds. As I noted in my post, I find the mottled Breda a bit aloof and not keen on human contact, but my BBS are the opposite. They will feed from my hand and follow me around just in case I have treats.
They are all lovely birds, quite talkative with a large vocabulary of sounds...
He is already fitting in nicely! I have a couple of Breda ladies in that flock so I will be gathering up the white eggs in hope of little blue babies! :)

I can imagine how difficult that decision must have been for you :( Still, it worked out for the best all the way round.
I'm sure someone will have a blue for you this year. I'm not sure if I will be hatching any this year - nearer the time I expect I will change my mind!

That's certainly a thought, if so, the combs are a throwback from her ancestry....but I have spotted her with the Wellie :rolleyes:.
Who knows? They are cute little mutts, very friendly...hopefully hormones won't change that too much.

Well, the 1st hatches are now 1 month old - what a difference! They are eating like mad and growing fast. All boys I think but lovable. As you can see the blue Breda hen was a bit of a naughty girl and must have dallied with the Welsummer rooster.... as all the blues have combs of some sort...
That is very sad to read - are you talking about the BKU club? I would love to join but I don't speak Dutch. I know there is a translation app on the computer somewhere...

Did I tell you that one of the Bredas decided to sit on eggs for a while? She got bored around day 8 and walked off the job. I found the eggs cool and very dirty but I put them in the incubator just in case.
