they are about 2 months old right now and at that awkward stage where they look half naked and pulled through a hedge backwards, they arent at their best photogenically . i was pleased that none had straight combs, unlike the red silkies which one does.
i wont be able to breed them for a few more months, and mine are showgirls -but those do not always breed true and you will get a decent amount of normal silkies from them. what i found interesting is that ideal poultry has them for offer. yes they are lower quality silkies, but i am gambling...
golden neck chicks---odd though, they either have a porcelain father or a mille fleur father (both from outside breeding group)-so the most of the dilution gene i should get is a blue mille fleur. there is obviously more to their genes than the chicken calculator and a pundit square to the...

here are some photos of my breeding groups and this years hatchlings. if anyone is interested i have eggs from them on the 24 hour auction till 10 pm central today

just hatched out this loud paint showgirl last night! i am getting a lot of my 3rd generations hatching out with wild skin patterns too. sorry for crap photo, i need a good working camera.
right now a white hen-to test her 'whiteness', the eggs will hatch in 2 weeks and then i will add more hens. he has high fertility, which may explain his crappy attitude.
