took some time to take some egg photos.
i work in a color calibrated system and i tried pretty hard to get the colors right this time (comparing the egg with the screen), but you won't really see it that way unless you come here

anyhoo, my girls are just under 6 months and they look older than yours. i have my first 2 eggs. one today, one in the last few days of dec. pretty far apart afaic.
since mine look more developed and are freeloading for the most part, i would wait a few more weeks on yours, maybe longer...
i got our first egg around the first, now nothing. they were cooped up for 3 days at the time as we were out of town. now i'm going to go looking in all the corners of the yard to see if they have been laying somewhere else all along.
this would be a cool project for me to practice on, i should go to a show and get some good photos of award winning chickens and start doing illustrations like a bird field guide with field marking of what you should look for in a quality breeder.

well actually i'm not sure if it's hers but she's the only one squatting for us, the reddest comb and by far the largest.
this is from a color calibrated monitor and the black should read neutral so the color should be relatively correct.
my neighbor told me that they come and check out your coop placement and coop if you get a permit. coop has to be like 25 feet from any residence and if it's taller than 6 feet, there is a property line setback.
i'm not 100% sure of any of this information though.

be careful of a post going out the front of a bike, i've been a cyclist for 25 years and the few times i tied dowels or lumber to my top tube, it really messed with my head. the bars turn, but the stick doesn't, very strange sensation.
