Hi Everyone.
It is with great sadness that I find myself having to rehome my flock. I am handicapped so my husband has always taken care of them. He developed Alzheimer's and was managing to take care of them, sometimes, by my direction and reminders. He has rapidly declined and is no longer...
Here we go again. This duck was purchased from TS on March 16th.
I noticed this a day and a half ago. It is having some difficulty standing. One leg seems to be bothering it and the joint appears a little swollen. When standing still, it stands with one foot in front of the other. When being...

Hi. I got 6 ducklings from Tractor Supply. Anybody recognize what breeds I have? They are 7 days old today, to my knowledge.
Sorry the photo isn't all that great.
Thanks in advance.
1) Ducklings - 5 days old
2) Today when I picked up each duckling, each one regurgitated a clear, snotty substance... They didn't do this when I handled a couple this afternoon...Started around dinner time.
3) They haven't done this until today.
4) Yes, at least 4 of the 6 (from TS, which...
I guess this is where to put this question, although I'm not incubating.
I have a bantam sitting on eggs. The other day, she kicked at least two eggs out of the nest and we found a dry half shell as well.
I don't know what day she started to sit but I estimate it has been about a week...
If anyone has to rehome the below, we have room for them.
Pekin, Cayuga, Khaki Campbell or Rouen's - female only as we have a Cayuga drake.
Hens and/or Wyandotte (Golden Laced preferred but would take a Black Laced)
We have 55 acres with two ponds. The largest pond is an acre and a half...
I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct area as I see brooder topics in the raising chicks area too.
I am attempting to let one of my hens hatch her own eggs but I have several questions. I am hoping some of you fine folks with experience can answer them.
1) How long can a...
I have four ducks. A Cayuga drake, a Peking hen and two Mallard hens. They are about a year old and have been raised together. We have a pond that is a acre and a half. Their enclosure is 10 x 20 and 6' tall. It sits so that it is 1/2 in the water and 1/2 on the bank. Their duck house is...
We have a mix of year old chickens (and two roosters). We have been getting an average of a dozen eggs per day, until the past few weeks. Now we average about half of that but yesterday we only got three.
I am located in North Central AR and our temps have been in the 90's with lows in the...
I have four one year old ducks. One male and three females. We've been getting eggs but then all of a sudden none... I started watching them more closely and twice, I've seen them eating what appears to be an egg. I knew chickens might eat their eggs and that it is a difficult habit to...
I am new to canning and I am finding that sometimes, my jelly sets up good until I do the hot water bath... then it is thin and runny... Since everyone give me great chicken, duck and guinea advice, that someone will have the answer I am in need of.
Thank you and stay healthy!!!
I am in North Central AR. Some of my girls/boys have black spots on their combs. Is this a type of pox or something else? How do I treat it, whatever it is?
Let me start off by giving a little bit of background. I am handicapped. My husband tends to the ducks, chickens and guineas. His memory is horribly shot. I bought six very brightly colored ceramic eggs and had him put three in the next box in the chicken coop. I still have three somewhere...
1) Silver Duck Wing Phoenix - hatched on 7/31/19
2) Falling to the right side
3) Noticed it 30 min ago
4) No
5) No
6) I saw nothing happen before the falling began.
7) Water, medicated chick starter and a few kernels of corn
8) Poop is soft but formed, brown with white blob
9) Water with...
Is there such a thing as chronic pasty butt?
I got 20 chicks from an online hatchery. Hatch date 7/31, so they are 3 weeks old. 15 are bantam and 5 are standard size. (I meant to order bantam but must've been so excited that I accidentally ordered standard.)
One of the bantam chicks...
