Is it the Dominiques that are always trying to get out or are the Sussex sneaky too? My Dominique is much more wily than my Marans, and will take every chance she gets to slip between my boots and get out into the yard. She often sneaks by my husband when he is scooping out their coop. Ah...

Oh no! I hope her chick gets better soon! I don’t know if there’s any science to back this, but I used the slurry in the video below on my day old chicks last year when they arrived and looked like they needed some extra nutrition. It didn’t do them any harm at least, and they all perked up...
