I have hatched a mixture of egg sizes together and I find a bigger egg usually produces a bigger chick that's all.
Though some advice is to avoid hatching any eggs that are abnormally large or small. I'm sure it's just taking a little longer as it's a larger egg. Fingers crossed for it.:fl

Yes she seems a little happier today tho its still 26° here today. I made a makeshift parasol for her in the end out of a golfing umbrella, a white bed sheet and pegs..the things we do for these ruddy chickens...!!!:lau
Ooh let us know how you get on with it.
Most of my birds are fine with the heat, in fact the Goslings love it. I am worried about my broody hen though. She is holed up sitting on eggs for about 16 days now but every time I check on her she is panting. I haven't checked the temp in there but I'm...
Yeah I think hubby is hoping if I keep hatching I won't have more babies ha ha! It might work....not. :lau
Did the last Hatcher pick up or stay weaker than the others?
I've got a rubbishy android galaxy phone. I'll give it a go though! I've got to set up a YouTube account too then. As I said I'm...
Ooh fingers crossed for the rest!:fl
Yes the first swim was lots of fun tho I noticed the one that struggled to hatch did get tired before the rest. I shall keep an eye on him I think.
Yes that's my third daughter of four (so far lol) and they are all fascinated by every animal we have. They...
Yes I've just cleaned mine out and put it away. If I think about it mines been running since the end of march too!
I sort of miss the whirring noise...:lau
Ooh goody! How exciting !
I agree with Yorkshire coop, once the readings are correct it's pretty straightforward. You'll be fine;)
And you...
Thanks everyone :)
The last Gosling is finally fluffed up and strong enough to go in the brooder with the others and they are all happily eating and drinking now so I think I can stop worrying now!
It's been so great being able to chat to you all at the same time!
Thanks for all your support...
We're out!!

The last gosling has finally hatched! It's exhausted and so am I, but I'm so happy it made it! It was nice and ready too.
Phew!
Thanks.They are gorgeous!!
Two got out all alone. One I helped right at the end as it was exhausted. One is really struggling so I am gently and carefully assisting as we speak. Its membrane had gooped and stuck to it and it was stuck. It's taken all day so far.
I am a shaking bag of nerves...
@Yorkshire Coop
Look what popped out this evening!!
Two gorgeous and lively babies and the other two are starting to zip too!

Hooray!!!
Yeah it's going ok. All four internally pipped yesterday. Two have externally pipped this morning.
How long can they go in there before they run out of air?
Fingers crossed for your pheasants! :fl
Well I'm told they are Embdens, one of the heaviest breeds. It's my first time and I'm kind of 'winging it' if you'll forgive the pun.
What day are you on? I'm also on the 2017 Gosling Hatchalong thread with the last of us stragglers still hatching geese this year. That's if you fancy a look!;)
Thanks! I really appreciate your advice and support.
Is ok to still be misting and cooling or should I stop now?
I really thought I had another couple of days before I'd see any signs of hatching, it's not too early is it for them?
