So, i have 50+ chicks now ranging from newborn to close to 8 weeks old. I thought that as they got big enough I’d let them out to free range with my 9 older chickens. I caught 3 with a fish net and turned them loose. But now only an hour later I can’t find them anywhere. I thought they would...
I’ve been adding babies to the older chicks for a few months now. I did lose one chick that I added on her first day so that’s definitely too soon but just to give them 2-3 days and they have survived and soon they blend in.

This looks like where I’m supposed to write.

You’re right, 3 incubators are not necessary. I wanted to have a system that would allow me to add eggs and have a continuous process going. Two incubators would work. I think the key is having the eggs marked and keep up with when they should go into Lok Down. The eggs are at 99.5 degrees and I...
My new plan for keeping a control on my eggs is that I will use two incubators continuously and mark the Lok Down date on every egg I add. Then I have a 3rd incubator that will not turn and be solely used for Lok Down eggs. Does anyone see any flaw with this plan?
