Ok as promised here are my fuzz butt babies. Only three hatched but I'm thrilled to have them. The photos also give a better idea of what Torie looks like. She's definitely an EE but I'm thinking maybe Brahma mixed in?
Thank you all for responding.
I have since discovered that YES I have Orpingtons! WOOT!!!!
I've been wanting them for a while. I hear they are very sweet birds.
The second is still anyone's guess. I'm hoping Goldend laced Wyandottes but honestly I'm happy with whatever I get.
Third photo-...

I got my first pair of chickens in March and now the hen in that pair is hatching her first clutch of eggs.

I had never heard of a Nankin but I looked them up and yes, I have to agree with you Cache looks very much like one. The woman I bought Cache and Torie from has over 50 breeds of chickens. I'll have to ask her if she has any Nankin in her stock. She has some of the most beautiful chickens...
...chicks. I bought six, a pair of each. Any idea what they could be? I know they are all pullets. I'm hoping the buff colored ones are Orpingtons. *crosses her fingers, closes her eyes and wishes "oh please oh please oh please be an Orpington"*
Thank you in advance for your help in...
3 CHICKS now only two left to hatch. Keeping my fingers crossed. Torie finally let me know that I was not welcome in the nursery with a sharp strike of her beak when I went to check on chick number three. The first chick was up and around when I went out and immediately ran over to me. It...
We are new to raising chickens. We stared out with 6 hens in a mobil chicken coop 8x4 with 6 nesting boxes. The girls are dieing and I can't figure out why? They eat layers feed and I add scratch in case they want it. We also give them our left over veggies. i also give them leaves from our...

OMG! Thank you so much for all the wonderful information. I'm so nervous and excited that I might have my first chicks any day now.
Torie is either a Buff Orpington or Brahma. I'm not sure which, I'll send photos.
I'm afraid to touch one of her eggs for candling.
Torie and her roo Cache...
I have seven free range 2 1/2 month olds. I bought them in March as chicks and since we live in Houston (its warm all year) they immediately went outside during the day into a large wire cage. There was plenty of room for them to play all day and to enjoy the spring grass. At night, I would...
My little suckups are my Frizzles and Bar Rock. My frizzle roo Jeremy, my frizzle hen Mrs. Frizzby, and my Bar Rock hen Barbara. They free range in my front yard along with three Americauna hens (Merriadock, Peragrin, Merisial) and a silver laced Wyandotte hen (Wynona). I bought them all at...
Hi all,
I have a small problem and I could really use your help. One of my hens has gone broody (right term?) but I didn't know it. My husband and I have been terribly busy for the last couple of weeks and haven't been playing with our egg laying hens as much. We noticed that one of them...
...is this, can I spray my yard with something like Cutter's Mosquito spray if I have free ranging chickens and goslings? I don't want to poison my flock *obviously* but the mosies are vicious and I heard that they can make chickens sick. What do you do for mosquitoes?
With kind regards...
Non chicken question here. Do you have a Belgian Tervuren? I see what looks like one in one of the photos. They are one of my favorite breeds. My little girl passed away after 17 years last March. I miss her.
Hi all,
I posted last week about loosing my TRG. I'm still looking for one. Anyone in or around Houston seen or have any for sale? I would even consider trying to hatch eggs.

I'm hoping to check out the Trade Day at the fair grounds this Sunday, but if I don't find anything there I will check the place in Splendora. My husband subs over there so he may be over that way next week or so.
Where is the Trade Day taking place?
Maybe you just need to go by yourself, therre certainly is nothing wrong with that. Mike and I like to have fun, and our single friend hang out with us two, even though we are compared to them
Unfortunately, I eat all but my Saturday dinner meal alone. My hubby is usually taken out to...
