    Yep, thanks! Silkie Sue posted it and it was about her cockeral , who turned out to have wry neck. She would have posted that she thought her rooster was having seizures. In the end, shenamed him Lucky.

    How are they laying? Mine stay in theglowof the light, but are not active. Production has not dropped. If production drops, then I would discontinue the lights. But don't be discouraged by lack of action. Most of the day they are relaxing too.

    In my experience, it is b/c you are giving them too much. If they are hungry enough, they will eat it. Try scattering less both times. I also scatter twice a day and keep layer crumbles in the feeder. If I giv ethem the correct amount, tey will eat it all, but if they have plenty to choose...

    Yep and yep. But soon you will find the feathers on the hens back will start wearing off due to too much attention from the roo. Best get a few more hens for the roo. ( I am an enabler )

    My experience is 8 weeks. After that she kicks the chicklets out of the nest and will resume laying.

    I use Premier One's electric poultry netting, and have used it for 4 years. Love it!!! I move it every two or three days, less when they are younger, more when they get bigger (and poo more) I have a shelter inside the netting that they use at night time, and to get out of the elements.
