    Rabbit with strange habit?

You need to nip that nibbling in the bud. When he nibbles on you yell OUCH so he stops. Or push him away. If you don't it could lead to biting.

Rabbitt owners: What is Timothy Hay

You want to feed a good quality pellet with no corn. 15-16% protein and 20% fiber. If your pellets are alfalfa based then you need to feed Timothy Hay. Really it's pretty cheap around here it's $12 a 50lb bale. I feed Mazuri rabbit pellets which run around $15 for a 25lb bag. My rabbit is...

rabbit with mis-aligned jaw/teeth....what do you do?

I'd have her teeth pulled completely. She will still be able to eat but you won't have to trim her teeth all the time.

rescued kitten********oh no i think we're losing him *****ud 1st post

I'd get some kitten chow and baby pablum and goats milk and mix up a slurry of yummy goodness for him to eat. We used this mixture for our kittens if their mom would dry up early or for rescue kittens that had no mom and I've never lost a litter yet. :-)

    The Common “Horse Person” Mindset

    *Head meets Desk*

But at least if they are running free they aren't in a cage! OK that was snarky LV coming out because every time I tell people they can't just turn rabbits loose in their yard to run wild I get some turkey butt that comes back with that reply. Minor details that bunnies are perfectly fine in...

How much did you pay for your rabbit?

I paid $20 for my Standard Rex. I went to a breeder but didn't get his pedigree as I was neutering him. She wanted $30 if I got his pedigree. Best $20 I ever spent.

    Torn ACL in Dog

You might look into some of the homeopathic sites out there such as http://www.itsfortheanimals.com/ACL.HTM Also it's possible that perhaps an alternate and cheaper surgery could be performed. When my sister's cat was attacked by a neighbor kid her ACL was torn and we couldn't afford the...

    Rabbit folks help needed

I'd cut the yogurt immediately. Rabbits' GI tract aren't made to handle dairy. If you want to get him some beneficial gut bacteria you can get probiotics from any feed store. Benebac is a good one. Offer water in a bowl instead of a water bottle if you haven't already. Rabbits will drink more...

    free ranging why?

There's a huge difference between free ranging and turning loose. Free ranging rabbits means they are in a secure area from which they can't escape out into the wild. This means fences buried in the ground and preferably a secure and predator proof area for them to spend the night. Even...

My Red Eared Sliders from Myrtle Beach!!!!!

Redears are hard to sex until they are 6-7 inches long. Male red eared sliders have much longer claws on their front feet than females. As well, the tail of males is longer and thicker. The cloaca is located farther from the body in males, and males also may have a slightly concave (curved...

So Our DD Wants A Bunny

I've known bucks that can live together and I've known bucks that as soon as the hormones kicked in they tore each other to shreds. I've seen does do the same. While a lot of rescues advocate getting a pair or getting your bunny a friend, I really find that they will bond to each other and the...

So Our DD Wants A Bunny

...on that because rabbits tend to eliminate when they feed. I change his litter box 2 times a week and there's little to no smell. Only hay smell. **If your child is allergic to hay then a bunny isn't a good idea. ** I prefer males. For one they are easier and cheaper to neuter and they...

    Cat Food Recall

P&G announced a voluntary recall of select varieties of Iams ProActive Health Cat and Kitten Food in 3-oz. and 5.5-oz. cans. The cat food is being voluntarily recalled in North America only. This recall is due to incorrect levels of thiamine--an essential part of the cat diet. Dates on the...

Does anyone have a male calico cat

You do not see the calico patterns with a normal male (XY) cat because the X chromosome does not become inactivated in male animals. However, cats are susceptible to the same genetic disease we are. In one particular disease, two cells fail to separate their X chromosomes during Meiosis. This...
