Keep an eye on her. Keep an eye on her weight. I just lost my silver duck wing bantam to the same thing. Make sure your laying feed is fresh. I also have oyster shell accessible to my free range chickens in several areas at all times. But if she stops laying and eating it seems to always be a...

can ducks live with chickens happily?

I have had ducks with chickens for years and no problems....except the male ducks will try to mate with my chickens. Homemade Mason Jar Waterer and Feeder for my Girls.

I use a large pan with a smaller pan inside. They can scratch in the smaller pan but the bigger pan catches anything that gets out of the smaller pan. There is not enough room for them to scratch between the pans. At the end of the day I pour what is in the bigger pan back into the smaller pan...

    Duck ID

All I saw at the time were mallards but the egg was much too large for that breed. I did get a Swedish to raise with this duck and the Edisto duck is two weeks younger and bigger than the Swedish black and white.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever fed your chicks?

In the summer and its really hot I will freeze them stew (lots of veggies and some meat) they will pick at it for hours. Birds actually like peppers or spicy food, I have read that some exotics like to eat hot peppers.

    Silkies! Pictures Included!

If it is use to hearing Lilly I would call him Little big man, he should remember the first syllables of the first part. Most animals remember and respond to a two syllable name.
