    Whats a good starter "treat"?

Last year, I gave mine crushed up Kix cereal and they went wild for it! They followed the big scary hand from then on to see if there was some more and now that they are a year old, they still check out Momma to see if she has some cereal on hand!

Abandoned Baby Chick ***UPDATE*** With Picture

Help! My husband just found a little baby chick out beside our shed. We know that it obviously came from one of our Bantams, but we don't know how it got here all by itself and don't know who the Momma is. Plus if we leave it alone, we are afraid the cats will find and eat it. What can I do to...

    I need a 12 step program

I think I need to join this program. I'm Rose and I am an addict. It started with two Easter Egg Roosters. Which we put in a 10x10 coop. Then we inherited 8 Bantam Hens and Roosters - We put them in the coop with the roosters-then we built a 100 ft. run for them. Then I made the fatal mistake...

Update on Peepers (yes, I named him!) He is doing wonderful. After being warmed up in the house for awhile, he proceeded to run around and peep (thus the name peepers!) I have put him back in the brooder, by himself as the others are old enough and have all their feathers. The rest of the 11...

    A little help please??

Thanks, I just couldn't bring my self to do away with him. He does seem to be perking up some now that I brought him in where it's warmer. Perhaps I will give him some more time with the light keeping him warm.

Help! My Broody Hen is Dying!

I think the idea of putting the eggs in your bra wasn't crazy at all, it's a good way to keep them warm with your body heat until you can get a incubator made for them!

first time incubating, first set of eggs went in about an hour ago

Thanks! My husband originally wanted to put them in an egg carton, but I opted for laying them on their side on the mesh wire in the bator. I put an x on one side and an o on the other to let me know what side to turn them to next. Hope that works!
