New Skin is a product for putting over small cuts or sores on ones skin. Yes I have also heard of people using scotch tape and yes I think it can be just regular scotch tape
I used New Skin this year and that seemed to work well but it wasn't too bad of a crack. For the bleeding try corn starch or a quick stop product for dog toenails
I vote both. I've had chickens since 2009 or so and have had broodies hatch out chicks. I decided to get a small incubator just to see if I was able to hatch out my own eggs. Once I was successful with my own eggs I purchased some fertile eggs off of eBay which are in my incubator right now.
If duckling is making chewing motions it is likely still absorbing the yolk sac. I don't know from personal experience but have seen a lot of others post that ducklings can take a long time to hatch.
When candling shipped eggs do they tend to look different in terms of development than non shipped eggs? I have 13 shipped eggs that are currently on day 10.5. Two I can see veins/development for sure. One is a maybe and the other ten I don't see veins or development but they don't really look...
