What would happen if you bred a polish hen with a frizzle Cochin rooster? would I get some frizzle polish? One of my Cochin hens decided to be a rooster so i'm just thinking of what I can hatch :) also what about with a rir, barred rock, salmon favorolles? Does every breed take to the frizzle...
First please excuse the messy hairdo she had just finished eating some yogurt which ended up all over her head. But thats where I noticed these two little horn things at first I thought maybe ingrown feathers? But after looking up some pictures it kind of looks like it's the rooster comb...but...
So I candled my pekin duck eggs and it's day 7, I can't see any sign of veins. All I see is the yolk but doesn't look like anything is growing. I'm new to hatching and candling, I'm assuming these eggs are bad...but I hate to give up on them-is there a chance that they could develop?

Hope the antibiotic takes care of it I'll be going out in search of some blu-kote today for sure and I'll keep you guys posted on how my little duckys doing. On another note, any good name ideas? I have two nameless pekins right now hahah
I will definitely try that! I've never heard of Blu-Kote so I'll go out and find some. Thanks for the information guys, and I'll be reading through your thread soon Enchanted. And yes my ducky is walking just fine so I don't think that the infection is that bad...hopefully
I was thinking of making like a little sock type thing and put some neosporin in it and put it on the bad foot and see if that helps?? I've also read about some stuff where you have to cut out the infection? How do I know if I'm going to have to cut out her little owie. And how do I go about that?

Should I try something like neosporin? It started out like as a darker yellow spot on the foot and then it got darker and then it turned to this, it's like lump and pretty hard. I've heard ducks get a problem called bumblefoot is this what it is?
My little 6 week ducky has this thing growing on it's foot. What could it be? This is my first time raising ducks so I haven't run into this before. Anyway it's a pekin duck about 6 weeks old and otherwise running swimming and playing just fine

One does make a really loud high pitched call sometimes while the other does seem to be a bit quieter and raspier, don't have my camera with me right now otherwise I'd take a picture
I have 2 pekins about 3 weeks old both born on the same day. One is significantly larger than the other like 2 inches bigger. Could the bigger one be a boy? Or did one hit a growth spurt early
