    Breed??

I have two birds I am unsure of the breed for. The first one is named Owen. I am pretty sure he's a male and a creole oegb. If he is an OE he needs to be dubbed but I'm not sure how to do that or where to go for that. Any tips? Can I dub myself? The second is a pullet (?) named Christina...

    Sour Crop: I need help!

Hi, my three year old buff orpington, Honkers, has come down with sour crop. I've been feeding her eggs, yogurt, and crumbles, but she just won't get better. This has been going on for a long week and a half now. At the beginning she was doing the "neck squiggle," but now she's not because I'm...

Why does my rooster have a black spot on his comb?

It's really not the temperature that's the problem, it's more of the ventilation of the coop. Sure, if its sub zero temperatures then you'll have some, but frostbite can also happen if it's moist and cold in the coop.

Why does my rooster have a black spot on his comb?

Looks to me dried blood or some frost bite. My roosters get this too, but are always okay. Put some petroleum jelly on the comb and the blood should come off in the next day or two. Or, if it's frostbite the jelly will help seal out the cold preventing more frostbite.

Runny poo, fluffed & not feeling well

She will be four later this year. She has been eating 16% All flock pellets and has been free ranging the last few days. I do have water soluble electrolytes I should give her. She was wormed a while ago, but no we don't have a vet around. She was much better today than yesterday and the day...

Runny poo, fluffed & not feeling well

Hi, my buff orpington named Honkers is not feeling well. She started symptoms free ranging Monday night. Her bottom is raw, and feces are hanging off of the feathers that are still there. I put her in the barn to be alone, and when I picked her up a whole bunch of water/discharge/clear fluid...

    What's Wrong?

He is about a year old, and a mix between an Egyptian Fayuomi and a blue OEGB. The last group of chickens I got was before he was born; I hatched him. He does not have frostbite on his wattles, but his comb started to get purple over the night. He is the same tonight. His toes do move. I put...

    Frost Bite

No, I think they would go inside when it gets cold. My chickens don' like to be outside in cold weather. If they won't go inside you can close their door at night until noon or so, so that way they will be in most of the time but they still get some outdoor time.

    What's Wrong?

Hi, I have a rooster who last night (10 pm, just got home), was sitting down in the coop. He wasn't roosting, just kind of sitting on one side. He was fine yesterday morning. I felt his legs and they are not broken. He can move them but it just seems like he doesn't have any energy. I tried to...

Goose lost some of beak :(

My 2 week old baby goose, Gary, just lost about 1/4 of his upper beak, just below the nostrils. I have NO clue how he did this, because he is in with two baby Easter egger chicks and a baby turkey, 2 weeks old as well. I saw blood in the brooder and noticed his beak. Will he be okay? Will it...

Hey guys I just got a turkey as a pet. He was the last turkey in this Feedstore bin and I had to get him since he looked so lonely! He/she is a bronze breasted turkey. I would like to know the following: - how can you tell the gender as a baby - can they eat chicken food? - i read about...

    HUMIDITY WILL NOT RISE

I take a rag/washcloth and run it under hot water, wring it out, then set it in the incubator. You won't be able to set it on your incubator but you'll need to replace it every two or three days. It should rise and works very well for me. :)

    How to hatch Ayam Cemanis?

:D Wow!!! May I ask, how much were they? I would say they're the same. I would personally hatch them under a hen instead of incubator. I feel the hen is more dependable. Of course, if that's not possible that's okay. I'm really happy for you! They're super amazing birds.
