    Worms in chicken poop...

False information. There are 2 types of DE, food grade and pool/garden grade. It will NOT in any form ,given in any way,be effective for preventing or treating worms. Pool /garden grade can cause serious lung issues.

Trespassing neighbor with dog chasing chickens

It's your responsibility to protect your animals on your property. I agree with what everyone else said. Show the cops the video, and I hope you know her address. Let her get away with it and next time will be worse, or, her dog might go after someone's cat or other pet. There are way too...

    Crowing and newly bossy hen

Sitting here laughing. I sold my older layer flock and kept one Starlight Green Egger who was at the bottom of the pecking order. When the new chicks were old enough I put them together. The Starlight of course started showing them she was boss. It got so bad I put peepers on her...

    Poop boards....

It was me. We looked at different ideas and I realized the PDZ I used for our horses would be awesome. I also have a bucket I scoop poop into, close the lid and when full of poop and PDZ I dump it into our compost pile. I use a metal kitty litter scooper. No smell, no flies, and no added...

Hoovers canceling orders and forcing customers to the end of the line

Post Office says even with a tracking number no box was ever received for shipment from Hoover Hatchery to me. Hoover is not answering their phones. Don't buy from them.

Hoovers canceling orders and forcing customers to the end of the line

JacynLarkwell First, I have ALWAYS in 9 years had tracking every step of the trip. That is what we pay for with live bird priority mail. Second, I live in Northern Nevada the hatchery is in Iowa. Your suggestion is ludicrous. I also already explained shipping time.

Hoovers canceling orders and forcing customers to the end of the line

I'm even more upset reading this thread now. My order from Hoovers mailed Wednesday March 1 and there is absolutely NO information for the tracking number. That main post Office in Elk Grove Village, IL has a bad reputation and no one answers the phone. For 9 years I received my chicks on...

I'll try the Safeguard, have it on hand. I forgot to add that I did dose them twice with Valbezan last October.

Speckled Sussex pullets or roos ?

All look like pellets. I've raised them for years. And I'm just going by what I can make out in the photos. Cockrell would also be crowing at this age.

    This One Has Me Stumped

Of course my favorite hen. Symptoms: skinny, getting worse. Yellow tinged solid poop, looks normal otherwise. Gone for 4 days and this morning her back has scabs, missing feathers, dried blood at base of upper tail feathers. Comb is grayish...

The run is loaded with flies

Here's my fly stick in the run story. Our enclosed run is pretty high and at the peak my husband had put a big yellow fly stick. I came home from work and noticed I had one hen missing. Then my husband came home and as we searched I saw movement above my head walking by the run (I didn't...

    Ropapoultry Complete Question

Is this put in fresh water daily by dumping out the old water every morning, or added to water then use the water up before dosing again? Hope that made sense.
