I opened the door just in time to see a chick fall out of the nest roll down the ramp miss the other ramp hit the ground and take off running.. About four feet from nest to ground..horrified...

    I have heard that you can tell by their legs hens have thinner legs..roosters have thick legs...my chickens are still young a lot with thick legs .So im waiting to see if this is correct

    I have two male indian runners and two white females I am still trying to understand why the females will jump on the males back and grab their neck.Doesnt matter land or water they do this..even tho the runners are smaller....my duck went lame for a few months..possible step on by the pig...

    Heat lamp too hot, chicks being in the "dark" ok?

    I was nervous the first couple times i did this...l had a large nesting box under the heat lamp 19 chicks and two keets .they all grouped together when cold but when it got hot it was just the opposite .also i had three perches two lower at different levels.
