I have heard all kinds of stories about ducks. all are all so funny to me. I thought we could all come together to get a good laugh!!! I do not have any GOOD stories yet. I am still very new to duck raising so you guys carry away!!!!! I will be watching!!!!:lau:pop:wee:caf:thumbsup

My trio of White Muscovys got out once a few years ago. They flew about a 1/4 mile down the hill to the neighbors pond. After 2 hours of chasing them I ended up swimming to catch the drake and one of the hens. It was in late November so needless to say the water was rather COLD!! The second hen came home the next day on her own. I figured she would if I caught the drake. The hens are 9 years old now and the drake is 5. They don't get to "free range" anymore lol.

I had similar happen I started out with 3 white female Muscovies with a group of 3 Muscovy drakes at the river that someone let loose one day the drake came up and escorted the 3 girls down to the river we had to get into the river and try and catch them never did and I had to leave them there over night next morning here comes the drake with the 3 girls behind him needless to say it was the last time he went to the river he became a permanent member of the family. All of those are gone now I sure do miss them at least this happened in summer so the water wasn’t too cold.

Hmm?
My little Call Drake Lucky would breed my Old Dog that's deaf and rubber boots. Poor Dog would wake up to a little Drake humping her side or back...:gig
Hmmm? I thought I lost him and he was on top of the Covered run..Chased the Rooster that's twice his size.

I have two male indian runners and two white females I am still trying to understand why the females will jump on the males back and grab their neck.Doesnt matter land or water they do this..even tho the runners are smaller....my duck went lame for a few months..possible step on by the pig ..that was over a year ago .he is fine now ...he did hopped around for several weeks ....before the girl ducks came along he was mating with every hen he could catch...

Sounds like the hens are older than the Drakes?
Hormones and Ducks are sexual.
Too Randy of Drakes are not a good sign either...

I know that my grey drake is at least two years old..and my cousin gave the others too me when he moved.the white ones are a different breed .they all get along....I didnt know if that was a dominance thing or what

Love the stories!!! Keep um coming!!!! I have a short one:
Several months ago I was cleaning out my ducklings brooder (they are almost 3 months now). I tripped on something and they just stared at me like I was dumb for tripping on what ever I tripped on. If ducks could laugh they would be laughing their heads off! I was fine, but the embarrassment given by ducks is never something you want to encounter. Trust me: look where you are walking!:gig
