    OFW, I have trouble growing carrots too, even in soil that seems ideal. So this year I scattered the seed and covered it with cardboard for a couple of weeks or so. Lots of it is up. We'll see whether the carrots develop normally. I think I have to play with it until I find out what will work.

    Not raining today, at least so far. I'll be busy clearing out the garage. I did find some pea seeds and some unidenfiables, so just threw them in.

    I'm not sure about dill as a repellent, but I enjoy using it in cooking and salads. Love its fragrance as well.

    Yep, if it ever stops raining up here, I'll do just that. It would be grand to have a swarm to repopulate the hive.

    My honeybees died over the winter, with just a few remaining and trying to stay busy. I've got other pollinators, but what amazes me is the proliferation of bumblebees. They make a lovely strumming among the raspberries. They are so focused and thorough as they work through the patch.
