    Sick or malnourished Pekin? (Pictures)

They get fresh water daily and I will see about the vitamins, ect. I feed them a mix of flock feed- 16% protein I believe, 6-way, Brewer yeast, diatomaceous earth, and oats. They forage, too. I've fried to get them to eat leafy greens- romane, kale, shredded broccoli with no luck. They are...

Is it Splayed leg if the legs are to the front?

Hello there, I just started my second year of chicken raising and I have 15 hens, 22 chicks that just arrived from McMurry and 6 chicks that were hatched by 2 broody hens: a buff orpington and a gold sex link. The buff is an excellent mother. The SL has some room for improvement. Anyway...

I have a flock of 20 in a converted section of our old barn that is 10x25. It is chicken wire on 3 sides. They roost about 3 .5 feet off the ground. We are getting some early cold temperatures here in Georgia, lows in the 30s, and I wanted to know if I need to get the coops sides stapled up with...

    Faverolles Thread

I have a replacement order coming from ideal. I think, to be honest, their stock/quality is quite pathetic. I received my order of 11 chicks. All supposed to be Pullets. I had to put one of my GlWs down immediately upon arrival for a severe case of crossbeak. I noticed it the second I opened the...

    THEY HAVE SHIPPED!

That's what I do with mine. I have to keep an eye on my older hens. They pick in the smaller ones- and they are buffs! Their gentleness and calmness goes away when the know the younger ones get my attention. Silly birds.

Wanted to post an update in my little girls. 4 weeks now. I moved them out of the brooder and I to a kennel in the coop with the big girls and boys. They are in their "ugly phase" and are almost completely feathered out. They are all 6 doing great! Their personalities are really coming out. My...
