I built a automatic waterer using water nipples. I know for sure that 2 of my 4 chicks (8 weeks old) know how to get water from the nipples. I'm not sure about the other 2 though. I'm kinda scared to remove the 1 gallon watering bowl because I don't want them to not have water if they need...
Can mealworms really eat through your chickens stomach? I read you are supposed to crush or remove their heads before feeding them to your chickens. I find this hard to belive. What is the real deal regarding this? Thx
At what age can you start introducing treats like tomatos, strawberries, oats etc. I have 4, 7 week old chicks and would like to start giving them fresh veggies etc.
I noticed mold growing in my water jug that I keep in the house for my daughter to fill the chicks water container with. I keep a 1 gallon container on my counter and I add a tablespoon of Braggs ACV. and keep it ready for her to refill. Has anyone else had mold grow in their waterers when...

I am switching from starter mash to grower crumbles and was told that at this stage the medicated feed is no longer neccesary. What are your thoughts about this. I just want to make sure the chickens are protected if need be but don't want to over medicate if it isn't neccesary
Thanks
What is the proper way to feed grit? It is really necessary if the Chickens are eating feed and occasionally getting a treat such as grass clippings and meal worms? I was just wondering if I should run out and get some or if I only really need it if they eat certain foods. I have 4 chickens...
I have 4 pullets that just turned 4 weeks old yesterday. How long before I start to introduce grit in to their diet? I just started giving them a few mealworms as treats. I just wanted to make sure they would be able to digest them or anything else, like hay, that they might ingest. Right...
I'm a long time reader and first time poster from Chandler, Arizona. We just got 4 chicks 3 weeks ago. Two Americaunas, one Buff Brahma and one Light Brahma. All four Pullets. Although they will be pets for laying eggs; we named them after our favorite chicken dishes. The Americaunas are...
