    Is it acceptable to leave light on for the birds 24 hours a day?

    Instead of turning lights on and off for them (to encourage egg laying) is it ok to just turn a light on, and leave it until it burns out? I'm not worried about electrical consumption, but more to be sure that it's ok with the birds.

    My pastured chickens are laying in the dang bushes-- they got a little wet...

    What breed? Several pics age progressive

    Can't figure out what breed this is-- do not believe it is an RIR because they did not have the brown stripes. Not really sure what else... Baby chicks day I bought them-- few days old. Chick-- 1 week old approx 3 weeks old--approx Pic about 9-10 weeks.

    We believe Chick#1 to be a Blue Andalusian... ? Chick#2-- no clue Chick#3-- not sure either, very nice mascara eyes though :) Chick#4--Legs are (you can see a toe) kinda yellow-y... I have a simliar colored chick, but the other one's beak is entirely black and it has black legs...
