    This is my mystery chick from McMurrey. Early on, everyone guessed it to be an EE. I'm thinking it's a rooster. It's about 5 weeks old. Thoughts?

    We are still trying to figure out our mystery chick from McMurrey. Would anyone like to venture a guess? I'm thinking it's a Red Jungle Fowl but that is not one listed in their Rare and Unusual breed section.

    Noob question

    Actually two... At what age can we begin throwing in crickets and grasshoppers into the brooder for the chicks? At what age can we start taking them on short adventures into the yard to free range? They are trying so hard to get out to the "light". Mine are 9 days old today. Thanks
