what are favored breeds of rooster to keep around (for fertilized eggs)? a docile nature & a rooster that makes a good cross for egg production ...I currently have RSL pullets & will be adding some Golden Comets & maybe some GL Wyandottes ...thoughts? TYVM!

Hello - I'm new here- we just got a few chicks yesterday - they're about 9 days old. Using the typical 250 watt RED (as opposed to clear) infra-red bulb. It's a little too hot for them. I know I can put more distance between them & the light ...but I'd rather find a 125 Wat red bulb ...I can...
