I have 4 peafowl, 3 peahens and 1 peacock. I know that I definitely have a pair that are 2 yrs old and the other 2 I bought from a feed store as pea chicks last summer. I thought they were females.. One is a black shoulder the other a cameo. They have recently started displaying their feathers...
Hello:) I have 4 peafowl - 1 2yr old male, 1 2yr old female, and 2 1yr old females. I'm assuming the 2yr old female has begun laying eggs - there are 3 eggs and she started laying them on Saturday. She is NOT sitting on them yet and seems to want the younger females to stay in the area with...
I've noticed this past week that my peafowl have been sneezing, especially the 1 yr old peacock. The weather is changing here in NH, cool nights, ect. Should I be concerned? They are all eating and drinking well. They look good and are active. Any thoughts?
I have 2 cameo peachicks that are about 3 months old. They are both getting some 'fringy' feathers near their tail feathers. Does this mean they are both males? It's been so hard to tell their sexes!
I just bought a 1 yr old peacock 2 days ago. I currently have 2 peachicks. We have him in our smaller chicken run so he can get used to where he lives. I would love to have him walking around the yard with the chickens but I'm afraid he will fly away. Should I clip his wings? My biggest concern...
I noticed today that one of my chickens didn't seem like she was feeling well so I brought her inside to keep a close watch on her. She's been drinking water but won't eat anything... Even her favorite treats. She finally pooped and it doesn't look normal. Does anyone have any idea by the poop...
I have 2 peachicks, about 1 month old. I was hoping to have a pair but I have no idea. I am new to peahens. For some reason I think they are both female and would like to get a male to go with them. The feed store where I bought them said they are cameos.[/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]
Here are my 2 little peachicks-cameo is about 3 weeks old and the other is about 1 month old. I'm wondering if anyone can tell the gender of the "other" peachick?? Maybe still too young but I thought I would give it a shot:) thank you!! Oh, and do you still think it's a black shoulder??
Hi, we just bought 2 peachicks and they are cameo. They are about 1 week old and don't really want me to interact with them:( Does anyone know anything about this kind of peacock?
Thanks for any information!!
I've posted a video of a chick that is constantly moving it's head from side to side and occasionally going in circles. It isn't eating like the other chicks. Has anyone seen this and or know what I should do?
I can't figure out how to upload the video:(
When I bought our 6 geese I thought that they would be able to forage in the front yard and eat the grass and weeds. The problem is that I have to stay with them in order for them to stay there. When I am at work they stay in the backyard with the chickens on about an acre of woods. They...
Hello goose lovers! I am fairly new to raising geese. I have 2 chinese and 4 embdems. When I brought the chinese home, one of them had a blue band around his ankle and I assumed that it was because he was the male. That was the last week of this past April, making him 3 months old. Today I...
We are new to having geese. Right now they are in a section of the outside chicken run. They are messy-as far as water goes!!! I try and add fresh hay every night but they get everything all wet so I am having to change it daily. What do you do for bedding? Is there something else I should be...
We are new to owning geese. Our goslings are about 1 month old and they follow us everywhere! My daughter and I went for a short hike and the goslings followed us. Once we got home, they rested but when they got up they were really wobbly. They were fine today but went for a walk with us again...
My buff Orpington started limping about a week ago. No sign of broken bone or other injury. She's eating and drinking well and comes out for treats. She's not paralyzed on one side. No bumble foot. She is also still roosting. Could it be mereks??
Any thoughts??
I was just watching her and she...
I think I have 2 African goslings and want to know about the knob on their head. Do both males and females have this? I have seen so many different kind of knobs, can someone help me figure out what these geese are going to look like? I've had someone else tell me they are not African goslings...
