I have decided I want some white, brown egg layers. I've narrowed my choices down to WR or RIW, but I know nothing about either's laying ability. If anybody has any info or experience with them,

My friend is having a problem with one of her Faverolles. She is listless and has a rash around her eyes. Today she says her eyes are closed with rash. Does anybody have any ideas?

I bought some Favs and two of them have deformed feet. Their toes turn sideways instead of forward. I was just wondering if this is a flaw or just a fluke. They are pretty but needless to say I won't breed these.

I heard or read that the space between the pelvis bones of a hen were a good indicator of whether a hen was laying. I measured some of mine and decided the two fingers were probably not, three were. I shut the two fingers up and next day had two eggs. from those two hens. I guess the...

I finally got two babies. They were late hatching, I was about to give up on them. One hatched Friday night, the second pipped Sat night but went no further. I helped her out after 24 hours. She looks like she has a little deformed foot. Hopefully it straightens after she gets a little...
Somewhere i had read that Welsummer chicks could be sexed by the stripe on their little heads. Has anybody else heard this? If you have, which way does it go?
I have noticed that a couple of the hatcheries are offering dark or single comb RIR. They are a little more expensive. Are these apurer breed? Are the lighter ones not as pure?
Isaw in acouple of the hatchery catalogs that they have single comb and rose comb and red and dark red.chickens. Are the sc dark ones a purer breed? they were more expensive.
