Recently a chicken of mine was attacked by either a dog or owl. She survived ok but with a sizable cut right above her leg. Not sure what to do, should I try to treat it or maybe it would be better to go to a vet? Thanks.
I'm thinking of getting goats/sheep (one or two) maybe both. The only problem, I don't know how they're going to get along with the chickens. Will they trample them? Thanks!
My chickens are free range since I can't put a fence around the yard and I don't want to keep them cooped up. Lately they've started wandering into our neighbors yard and down the road. Any ideas on how to keep them in the yard?
Thanks!
One of my chickens has a very interesting foot,
the left one is fine, but the right one is bumpy, the scales are really big and kinda misshapen,
it has little nobs all over it.
I'm just wondering if this is something wrong or if its fine.
Thanks!
I just got a three chicks. One, a little brown one is acting very strange. She wobbles back and forth, chirps very loudly and is constantly falling down, the biggest thing is her eyes are almost always closed and she stands in one place wobbling, chirping and falling down. The others run...
Unfortunatley all of my chickens have died but one, we are going to get some more chickens when the new run is finished. My question is, how do you think my old chicken will react to the new ones? She is nine months and the new ones we're getting will be about six months. Thanks!!
my chickens are silly enough to hang out in the pouring rain and they won't go in the coop. Is rain bad for chickens? As in they will be extremely cold.
I have have a roost that my older chickens use but my young ones can't jump up to it. They sometimes sit on the edge of the nesting boxes. Will they eventually use the roost?
I have three young chickens one 3 month old and 2 two month olds. I've been feeding them the smaller pellets, when do they transfer over to the bigger pellets?
