I would like to find a good home for my 5 hens. Hopefully before winter arrives.
They will be 2 years old in the fall.
They need a home where they can live out their life and not end up on somebody's dinner plate.

What do you all use for bedding with your chicks? When mine arrived, I used paper towels for a little over a week.....now of course as most of you already know.....that just isnt "cutting" it anymore!!!! Too messy!! lol

Do any of you feed your baby chicks something other then commercial chick feeds? I dont mean instead of the chick food, but as an addition to.
I would think it would be healthier for them if they had some natural foods added, that they would get if they were out foraging with their mothers...
My chicks have arrived this morning...I just got back from picking them up at the P.O.!!!
Got them all in the brooder...showed them their food & water.....all seem to be eating and pecking around except one...she just seems to stand in the middle of it all. Is that normal??? Maybe just shock...
Still preparing for my chicks that are coming soon. Is it best to start them off on the medicated chick starter or the non-medicated? My chicks will have been vaccinated with Mareks, and I also plan on mixing some yogurt in with their water. Any other tips I could do to get them off to a good start?
