    No one looking out this morning

    I have 7 silkies one a Roo and two Rhode Island Red hens and no one is looking out of this hen house this morning in Ky.looks like about 3 inches here in lex, ky.     The use of straw in my garden

    I spread a bale i of straw across the top of garden this winter in ky and my chickens just love it. It keeps their feet from standing on the cold hard ground plus I throw a little hay and a few sunflower seeds on top and it keeps them busy all day digging pecking

    Water outside of the coop

    I have a heater in the chicken coop for the water but my chickens like to go outside in my garden even when it is really cold . I have put straw out for them to walk on and a flake of hay to peck on but any suggestions on water outside? Shoul I just take warm water out to them occasionally ?
