We need some help identifying four of our new chicks. We’ve gone back and forth on what they could be so any help would be appreciated. We do think the tiny yellow one is either a bantam Cochin or Brahma but not sure which.
I posted pictures of these guys (hopefully girls) several weeks ago to try and determine what they may be. Im still not sure so I thought I would post these pictures since they are now fully feathered. They all have single combs and are almost 9 weeks old.
Any help identifying these chicks would be appreciated!
Feed store mix and they and they are suppose to all be females:
Welsummer?
Last picture is a group shot.
I have a 6 month old Easter Egger laying hen. She has recently developed a limp but can still put weight on her leg. It looks like it could be bumblefoot but I wanted to make sure. These are pictures of both feet and both seem to have the brown spots.
I have (3) 1 month old chicks. They are supposed to be all females but Im not too sure. I was told that I had a barred rock(posted picture of the barred rock's legs) and two Americaunas but Im thinking maybe one is an Americauna and the other possibly an Easter Egger.
I have tried fermenting Purina Layena and it always has such a horrid smell. I have fermented Purina Flockraiser and Purina chick crumbles in the past without it smelling so bad. Is it because there is more calcium in the Layena?
I got rid of my Silkie roosters almost a month ago but Im still getting fertile eggs. The fertile eggs are either the Silkie roosters or from this black Sumatra. I was pretty sure that this Sumatra was a female but now Im not sure. I have heard that Sumatras can be late to develop and they...
I got rid of my roosters about a month ago but have a black sumatra, who is 5 months, that Im not totally sure if its a male or female. This double yoker from my leghorn looks like maybe they were fertilized but Im not sure. What do you think?
I have a couple of chickens that have some tiny black specks on their combs. They are all eating and acting normal and the ones who are laying continue to do so. Any help is appreciated!
We got our first egg a few days ago and we think it came from our Leghorn, since it was white with some spots, but we haven't gotten any other eggs. The first egg was found out of the coop. We do let them free range around the backyard during the afternoon but I haven't found any eggs anywhere...
I posted this before but Im not sure if it was in the correct section or not. I have a 15 week old black Silkie that Im not sure if it is a male or female. I got a blue Silkie at the same time who is quite a bit bigger, has a larger mulberry colored comb and is crowing. The black Silkie...
This Silkie is about 14/15 weeks old. The comb is fairly small compared to the blue Silkie we got at the same time. She/He hardly has any wattles. Also, the feathers on the top of the head are somewhat matted from eating watermelon. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!
I bought this silkie & cochin and the lady told me that this silkie was a hen (I bought two other silkies from her that were hens and had way less of a comb) The silkie is a year old. She also told me that the cochin was a blue, does this look like a blue cochin?
I originally thought this might be a partridge rock but now think it may be a partridge chantecler. There is no comb or wattles as of yet. This chicken is 13-14 weeks old.
.
Does this look like a Black Sumatra? There isn't much of a comb or wattles whatsoever and I don't see any spurs on the back so Im thinking it may be female. This chicken is almost 12 weeks old. Bottom picture is from when it was a baby chick.
I was told this was a bantam when I got it. It (I think this is a rooster) was black to begin with but is now more bluish/gray. What breed do you think it is? Bantam or not? Roo or not? Thanks!
