I’m sure all the BCM people get terribly annoyed with this question but help me pick one of these three boys pretty please? I have two females and one male that are all beautiful and exactly what the SOP calls for . However, there egg color wasn’t very dark. These guys come from super dark stock.
Aloha all
I have a creme legbar Roo and just wanted opinions on him. New to this breed and I have read the sop but do better with visuals and feedback. Thanks in advance . Also I don’t have any CLB females I got him more for egg color genetics but am still interested in the future
Aloha
I hatched this sweet lil one almost 13 weeks ago. We thought with the large comb and wattles it was a he but both my Roo’s have been trying to mount her so now I’m thinking girl. She was a BYM I’ll try to find the list of person I got her from but she’s had a tiny bit of feathering on legs...
Included are pics of the babe in question (we think it’s a cockerel but not 💯 )
And all the breeds from where I got his egg from ( which was brown) In the closeup you can also see a tiny amount of feathers on his legs. He’s a complete love and likes to sit on my lap and chill.
I recently got my first two silkies and am thinking if they are male / female they will obviously mate. What happens when a blue Roo and Paint pullet mate? I’m new to the breed and am just wondering for the future 🥰
Aloha,
I’ve notice my BCM chicks (I believe two pullets and 1 cockerel) are growing slower the my other breeds. Both in size and feathering they seem slower. Is this normal? As this is the first time I’ve had them.
I have the NR360 and have hatched with it before however this hatch I have a problem with a couple detached air cells and I want to try and see if I can help/fix them. My problem is the eggs lay and turn on their sides but I’m trying to figure a way to make the few detached ones point down...
Aloha from Hawaii
We have a coop for our chicks when they go outside but since they hatched we also bought two silkie babies the same age. Our coop may be too tall for the bantams to get into so I thought of making a smaller coop to go in same run for them. I have an old solid wood table I was...
Aloha from the Big Island of Hawai’i !
I started 34 eggs yesterday between my Nurture Right 360 and my Kebonnixs .
My Kebonnixs is all gorgeous BCM eggs and my 360 is a mix of BCM, Prairie Bluebell eggers and a barnyard mix (shown in pic of nine eggs in box) so those will be my surprise babies...
Aloha from Hawaii!
I am getting back into chicken keeping now that we own our place and can finally have them again. I was going to order chicks but Hawaii is strict and won’t let anything come in out of Ohio right now so our plan B is incubating eggs which I started today! We have a Nuture...
aloha! This is Isis! She was SUPPOSED to be a blue Ameraucana from Meyers hatchery but obviously isn't. They seem to think she's a JG but I'm not 100%. What do yall think? Thanks for looking :)
aloha,
I'm trying to figure out the best feeding/watering containers for our smaller coop. While researching space saving ideas, it got me thinking...do they eat and drink at night?
My girls free range during the day. I have their coop open so they can come and go and eat/drink as they please...
Aloha, I bought this chick from Meyers as a "Blue Ameraucana"
However I've had a few people on here tell me she isn't one. I emailed photos along with my question to Meyers and even they think they might have messed up :( but what is she if not an am?Her comb looks straight instead of pea comb...
i would love to see pics of your DIY horizontal nipple waterers. I've seen many bucket type but is there other ways of making them? Possibly that could connect to a hose?
came home today and checked on babies and saw the nipple waterer was empty and a few chicks wet I thought at first it was leaking but have checked and it's fine. So I'm thinking they were just playing with it. Luckily a puppy pad soaked it all up but I don't want this happening constantly...
I have one week old chick that I've had to clean a few times. I read on a blog to put a dab of olive or vegetable oil after cleaning...so I did and now she keeps reaching around and pecking at the area and is getting a bald spot! HELP :(
