    Baby Chicks are Here

    We tried so hard to hatch our own eggs and failed twice so we ordered 25 chicks from McMurray Hatchery. Will post pics of our new brown egg layers.

    Chicken saddles for sale?

    Does anyone have any chicken saddles for sale? I'm interested in only a few for a medium-large barred rock hen and an americauna hen. Poor, poor girls have no feathers on their backs. Thanks!!

    Can I incubate eggs laid in cold weather?

    The temperature today did not get above 40 here in Southeast Georgia and I collected six chick eggs from the coop. Is it ok to incubate these eggs after being in the cold weather for 8 hours? Thanks so much for your advice!!!

    Hens backs are bare-no feathers

    Can someone please tell me if our rooster is responsible for the bare backs on our hens? My hens are about 10 months old and the rooster is the same age. We have one RIR rooster and 5 hens. The barred rock hen and the americauna hen have bare backs but the RIR hens do not. Is this something...
