What color Easter Eggers are these?

I picked up 2 six month old Easter egger pullets. Their color is really cool and I was wondering what it was called.

    Bantam setting on 3 eggs

My friend gave me four fertile eggs to put under my bantam. One completely disappeared which seems weird and I am trying to not think too hard about how. Lol 😝 She has the following. Hens - Ameraucana, Buff Orpington, Welbar, Black Australorp Rooster is Blue Plymouth Rock 🐓❤️ The eggs are...

Bobbi was hatched April 20. I am thinking he’s a cockerel but hopeful to be wrong. What do you think? S/he is so pretty. 😍

    Someone crowed this morning :(

I have these 4 newish pullets and at least one started to crow. Which one(s) is the likely candidate? The all white on is a Delaware, then a Barred Rock and two splash crosses.

Broody hen with Feed store chicks

I have a very broody hen, blue laced wyandotte, whose raised chicks from eggs before. My daughter had 2 feed store chicks that are about 2 weeks old. We had them in the house but are going on vacation and my DH didn't want to take care of them while we are gone. So last night, I tucked them...

    Mixed breed pullet or cockerel?

I gave my broody hen a bunch of fertile eggs and ended up with three chicks. I believe I have 2 pullets and 1 cockerel. What do you guys think? I think the black with red is the cockerel and the other two pullets.

    Thinking about a small avairy

We are moving and I'm going to have to get rid of my chickens. :( I do love watching birds so I was thinking of a large outdoor cage with some finches/budgies/etc to watch. What would be a good way to go? We live in northern Cal so the weather is pretty mild year round. I don't really want to...

Baby Splash Maran and Silver Lace Wyandotte mixes

My mama hen is doing a great job. I'm really really enjoying watching these little babies. The hatch date is Sept 1. I ended up with 7 and I am pretty sure there are 4 boys. :( I can only keep hens. Two of the pretty black and white ones are already showing the wattles.

    Hen hatching eggs

The eggs went under my broody hen on Aug 11, so Sept 1 is my hatch date. Here in California it has been very hot so I've noticed my hen getting up and not totally covering the eggs. I extended her shade a bit in hopes it helps. She is dedication and nearly all the time I check her, she's sitting...

    My first hatch

I have 10 eggs under a broody Orpington hen. That seems to be going fine. She's been really dedicated to the process. I'm ridiculously excited. My daughter (3) keeps asking about the chicks; 21 days is an inconceivably long time to her. There are Splash Maran and a Frizzle/Ameraucana and then...

    Run addition

I am adding to my wood coop/run using a dog run. I live in a wild area and am planning on hardware cloth for the bottom. My question is if i can do the bottom 3' of the run in hardware cloth and then the top. Any insight in the best attachment method for the wire to the dog run. I am...

    Toys for chickens?

I was wonding if we should have perches and jungle gyms in the run for the chickens. Do they play like parrots? Ours were hatched on June 10th and are headed to the run tomorrow night. Yay! No more laundry room chickens.

What do you think of these chicks? Hen or cockerel? I hope hen. The white one was sold as a Bright Brahma. Is that the same as a Light one?

    Heat question

I have six chicks that were hatched on July 10. I am struggling with having the correct temperature. I thought they should be around 90 at this point. I have a reptile gauge and read outs are fluctuating from 88 to 95. Of course, then I move the light. Mostly they seem active and comfortable...

    Brand new chicken owner

My honey and I just got our first chicks. They were hatched on July 10 and couldn't be cuter. Doesn't everyone say that? We have 2 amercaunas, 1 bright Brahma, 1 Welsummer, 1 black sex link and 1 golden laced Wyandotte. We are computer programmers by trade so are having fun coming up with...
