I can look at a baby chick and pretty much guess what it is, so I was hoping some of you duck savvy folks would know what I have here? Got them at Tractor Supply.
This little one just hatched today. I've read Males are lighter in color and have a distinct spot on their head, and females have a dark chipmunk stripe. But this little chick has a distinct chipmunk strip AND a light dot!? Help! Is it a roo or a hen? :jumpy

I just bought a female Welsh Harlequin today. I don't know much about ducks, but the seller said they are worth $150. But when I did some research when I got home, I'm finding out they aren't all that expensive. I only paid $15, but I'm curious if anyone else has heard of this price?

Lol! I have to admit, I'm a little obsessed. I have a single chirpier in my incubator that fell silent so I started singing to it. I got a chirpy response! :D
Our hens completely stopped laying. They aren't generally winter layers so it didn't surprise me. I read a few threads on here about timed lighting in the early morning and thought I'd give it a try. Our lighting system goes on at 4am and off at 8am. I know it may work better if I slowly get it...
