    Button quail questions....

It's time to clean my new button babies aquarium and I'd like to know what is the safest product to use. When I originally cleaned it I used bleach and a tad of dish soap and then left it in the sun for a day. I can't leave the birds in their temp home for that long and I'm not sure that I...

Lowering the temps in the brooder.

How have you all done it? We spent almost an hour today getting the temp right on the new housing for the babies. down to 86 and suddenly up to 101 - I was getting so frustrated I started to cry and my DH said they are supposed to make you happy not stress you out! Now I'm wondering how I'm...

    I'm thankful...

I'm thankful to have gotten back into this hobby after so many years. I had forgotten how satisfying, gratifying and rewarding it is. I really don't mean to call it a hobby as it really is more of a lifestyle. I have been following a thread by "FamilyofChickens" and his quest to buy a goat -...

    What would you do different?

We've got a great thread about things to do for coop cleanliness so I was hoping we could share what you would do different next time? I realize we have a great coop section in the works too but I'm looking for things that we tried and worked awesome or that we would modify nest time: Cleaning...

Trying to figure out the hatch date.....

I received the eggs in the mail on Monday, July 9; let them rest 24 hours and placed them in the bator on Tuesday, July 10 so day 1 would be Wednesday, July 11th - correct? It's getting close to time to take them out of the turner (button quail eggs) so I'm starting to second guess myself...

    Candling button quail eggs...

I've read it can be done and I've read it's nearly impossible. Anyone have any experience doing this? I don't want to have the eggs out of the bator and risk problems if it's going to be a waste of time. Thanks,

It's Christmas, Easter, my birthday all rolled into one...

at my house because my eggs arrived!!! I haven't been this excited over something in a long time. Seems sorta silly to be this excited over hatching eggs but I just can't help it! (I know excessive using of the smilies - I need to contain myself a bit!)

K, I've got the LG set up and I have questions - PLEASE respond...

The incubator is set up and the temp is staying at a consistent 99.5. I'm using the thermometer that came with the bator and an electronic cooking thermometer that I've stuck in one of the small holes - it's hanging down close to where the top of the eggs will be. So I've got a good feeling...
