I have an oldie but goodie incubator. It's a lyon, model rx, with a marsh incubator automatic turner. Included pics.
This thing has hatched many a chick for me, keeps very even temps, nice humidity levels, blah blah blah.
Now I am going to hatch some eggs for a friend, so she can have them...
i have eggs hatching right now that are wheaten roo and blue wheaten roo over 6 wheaten hens and 3 blue wheaten hens. I am thinking of getting some Lavender Ameraucanas. What colors will I be looking at with this cross? I should I stick with the Wheaten, Blue Wheaten crosses?
1 dozen BLRS Wyandotte roo x Gold Lace Wyandotte. 7 BLRSW roo over black australop. 1 dozen polish 8 blue 4 mixed. 1 dozen blue Wheaton Ameraucana over Wheaton Ameraucana. 1 dozen blue/black copper Marans. And the rest EE roo over black australop hen.

Here is a pic of her hatch mates

I have a rather large "shed" I think it was horse stalls originally. It's closed in on 3 sides, open to the southeast. I was thinking of using that for our roost and laying area. And letting the chicken be totally free range, as the rest of our animals are. Most people I've talked to don't...
We are now locked down, however I am worried. I could not find the right wick for my wet bulb and a farmer friend suggested using a oil lamp wick, banded tight. My humidity has always read high, according to charts, mid-50s. I locked down, put the extra water in and now I'm reading, real...
I'm a renewed chicken owner! I raised them as a kid, but stopped in high school. Now we have 4 acres and I'm back to raising them. I have 1 Ameraucana rooster, 3 silkie chicks, 6 golden lace polish chicks. Then I have 30 eggs in the bator.
