I don't know if she's egg bound or if there is something else going on. She seemed totally normal yesterday and when I just checked on her this afternoon, she was just sitting there. Any ideas? If she is egg bound, what do I do?
Ok, so I'm not sure if anything can be done at this point. Our back gate broke so we had to pen all of our chickens up in a space that was probably too small for them all. We also had my parents chickens until recently. 14 in total. 4 started laying, but haven't given any eggs in at least a...
So all of my chickens are roughly the same age. One just layed their first egg yesterday. One of my white leghorns has a rather large comb and waddles compared to the other 2. We already had a rooster in the bunch and he crowed a month ago. I'm just curious how can I tell by the comb and waddle...
I keep hearing that 12 weeks is a good age, but I can't seem to get rabbits up over a couple of pounds at that age. The parents are quite large, but a living rabbit that only weighs 3lbs doesn't dress out to much. Any recommendations?
I'm just frustrated. This is the third abandoned litter so it's off to the stew pot. This last one kicked her lone baby out onto the floor and I found it screaming. She didn't even attempt to make a nest. I have to put the infant down because she won't accept it and none of my other kits are...
We've had our rabbits for a little over a year now. This is the first time I've had a runt. She seems to be ok, but I worry about the little gal. I am raising my rabbits for meat but if she makes it, I may just find a home for her. Does anyone have any experience with runts? What should I be...
My rabbit has just given birth this afternoon, but she gave birth outside the nesting box on the wire mesh and none of the litter survived.
I've been checking up on her almost hourly the last couple of days as she continued to fill up the nesting box with fur. Even now, it's got plenty of fur...
So we got our chicks from Cal Ranch and they were all labeled as pullets. However, I'm starting to think "she" might be a "he." They are about 4.5 weeks old and this one is much lighter in color than the other BR in our flock.
The comb below looks pretty pink.
We had a little cold snap yesterday and it's only supposed to be in the 60s today. Right now it's almost 50. I have 16 chicks who are 5 weeks old and mostly feathered out. Is it safe to let them out in the run in 50 degrees? I still keep a lamp on at night and turn it off during the day. I'm...
I just wanted to pop in and say Hi! We've had our chicks almost a month now. They are a good barnyard mix of breeds. We are slowly getting our coop together and it's finally liveable...
We still have to install the ramp and the nest box. We are using it as a brooder right now because...
