    4 of 6 killed

    Woke up this morning to 4 dead birds. They were laying in the back yard with no heads. Possum? Raccoon? Yard is completely fenced. No evidence of dog or coyote. They have free ranged the yard for the past 6 months. Honestly, I am surprised I had not lost any sooner, but 4 my 6 in one night.

    Lurked now joined

    Lurked here for a few months. We have just over 6 acres. Three of that is heavily wooded. We have 3 horses and 6 BSL hens. Never had chickens before, so it has been interesting. Got our first egg yesterday. Thanks for all the great info on here. Bronson Barth

    21 weeks, no eggs yet

    Been lurking here for a little bit. We have 6 BSL hens that are approximately 21 weeks. Wife is about ready to eat them. No eggs yet. Three of the 6 have bright red waddle and crown. They "talk" to us a lot when we go out in the back yard. I hope they start laying soon.
