Hooray! Against apparently all odds, my femal Quail decided to brood on some eggs after nearly a year of ignoring them.
Surprisingly, she stayed on them and they just hatched last night. Pretty cool, and my kiddos are ecstatic about it. Which leads me to my question...

Hello all. I'm relatively new to the urban chicken scene. I used these forums extensively while planning my foray into this lifestyle and decided it was time to formally join. I live in Charleston, SC and have 2 Delaware hens. We also have 4 button quail. Looking forward to meeting some of ya'll.
I'm new to the button quail scene and was hoping to get some input/advice. Here is a pic of my setup. We have 1 male and 3 females. The substrate is gardening topsoil. Is this setup going to lead to these quail laying and brooding? Thanks in advance!
