dark color (at least 7s) and feathering is important to me...as is a nice egg size..i'm really not picky!!!
if you have anything affordable for a stay at home mom, let me know---i only need 8 plus...
(and would like to ship asap---my incubator is on and ready...)
thanks!
I received my much anticipated french BCMs from ebay today and am very disappointed...I ordered 6, and he said he would throw in 1 or 2 extras. I paid a total of $30 for them with delivery...
I got 4 decent sized ones, 2 small ones, and 1 paler than my golden buffs (probably a 3/4) with a...
I've heard its really hard to see into these dark eggs, so my question for ya'll is:
1) do I HAVE to candle? (not that I won't be dying of curiosity!)
2) if yes, then how long can I wait without risk of an exploding egg or something nasty like that happening...All I know is that I have to do...
Please feel free to hazard any guesses to these questions... a little advice is better than asking my cat or 2 year old...
1--I just bought a brinsea mini and i am concerned about controlling the humidity. the directions say to fill one side of a well inside for the first 18 days, and then fill...
I've done a little research, and just couldn't find the answers to these questions...
1) should I wash eggs before i incubate?? if so, in what? what if they look clean vs dirty?
2) and...should I wash my brand new incubator? if so, in what? (i don't have the brinsea product the manual said to...
Ours in on its way, and I was just wondering, after reading all that's out there, how you chose to rotate your eggs with this model and how it worked for you. For instance, did you just roll them a quarter turn, 3 x day, did you go back and forth, or all in one direction, or what did you do...
Hello! We just bought our first incubator (brinsea eco 10--we got a coupon for signing up for their newsletter on facebook) and my little girls and I are thrilled to have won an auction for French Black Copper Marans (I'm afraid the girls think they are really made of chocolate... but anyway...
OK--we just got an incubator for our children (and me... and want to get a roo for our easter egger and golden comets (red sex links, golden buffs, etc) so we can hatch our own eggs in the future.
we would like to know if we can combine a golden comet hen with anything to get sex links? is...
Just curious...can this be done?
I read a short piece online about it, but there weren't many details. I'm assuming you would have to add a pan of water or something to add humidity. And of course turn the eggs a couple times a day. I've never hatched without a broody, but I'm getting a...
Right now I have 12 eggs under my buff. 11 are two days apart in their "due date", and one is the lone survivor from a previous clutch that met their end from my 2 year old---long, ugly story... But that one survivor is due to hatch about 2 weeks before the other 11. So I'm wondering if the...
I looked out the back window and saw my standard white cochin Snow White half in and half out of the middle of our small koi pond. I ran out there and pulled her out and the 1/2 inch frozen top was frozen around her so she must have been in there awhile. She has one eye closed and one eye half...
OK I am totally unfamiliar with this stuff but we just bought some baby chicks and the guy at tractor supply said to buy some and add it to the water-- trouble is, we don't know how much to add...the bag says 200 mg for 5 gallons, but we can't weigh it!! is that about a teaspoon full? Any...
Hello-- my husband and I just picked up 5 baby chicks hatched today at a neighbors and are trying to decide if we should put them under our very broody hen (we have 7 total hens in a 8 x 10 coop with attached outdoor run--they are totally free during the day though in our yard) or keep them...
