I've got this plant growing in my garden. It's kinda pretty but it appears to have a spiky kinda fruit growing on it after the big white blossoms that appeared last week. Any ideas what it is? I need to know in case it's harmful to my chickens and ducks.

Hens yesterday! :) 2 Cochins and a Delta. My Alpha hen is NOT happy about this at all. She and the Delta both have bloody combs as a result. Hopefully they will get used to each other.
