our little hatchling has a malformed foot. :/ is this common? It's the first time we've had this happen!

I've got this plant growing in my garden. It's kinda pretty but it appears to have a spiky kinda fruit growing on it after the big white blossoms that appeared last week. Any ideas what it is? I need to know in case it's harmful to my chickens and ducks.

We have new chicks! A few of you might remember last Summer my Cochin broody sat on six eggs nicely but then rejected all six as they hatched. All six survived, 3 boys and three girls. We kept one rooster (the handsome guy in my avatar) so fast forward to this year, and my chicks from last year...

What in the world could have caused this?? She's eating and drinking, and they're appears to be no fluid/pus involved, and it's rock hard. She's keeping away from the the other hens and other than being a little quiet, she's not in pain. :/ I can take better pics if these don't turn out clear...

Picked up 3 new Hens yesterday! :) 2 Cochins and a Delta. My Alpha hen is NOT happy about this at all. She and the Delta both have bloody combs as a result. Hopefully they will get used to each other.
