I've currently got ten laying hens 5 black sex links and five Easter eggers.
And they've been laying like crazy this winter.

So I bought a smaller metal trash can (20 gallon) to store my feed in.
I'm going to use my 32 gallon can for my whole corn,scratch,oyster shell and grit.
I was thinking I could get 2 bags of feed in there if I dump it out of the bag into the can.
No real benefit other than buying feed less...

I ordered 8 chicks and picked them up May 18th.

So I have 3 Rhode Island reds,3 Barred Rocks,and 2 Auracaunas one of which turned into a rooster.

A friend of mine is helping me build my coop tomorrow.
He is a carpenter but also makes and sells hundreds of wooden toys of all types that he sells at craft shows etc.
He has offered me all of his sawdust and shavings which is mostly pine and occasionally other woods but no cedar.
